Africa-Press – Namibia. THE head of the Ondonga Traditional Authority, King Fillemon Shuumbwa Nangolo, has given a portion of land to the Namibia Exile Kids Association (NEKA).
NEKA, a representative body of the children of the liberation struggle, recently received 50 hectares of farmland.
The land is intended to enable the unemployed children of the liberation struggle to grow crops and vegetables.
According to NEKA’s regional advisor in Oshikoto, Willem Amutenya, the piece of land will help create employment and add to Namibia’s food production.
NEKA representatives went to Nangolo’s Onambango Palace on Saturday and informed the King about the difficulties they were having as offsprings of veterans of the liberation struggle.
They discussed, with the King, the difficulties that the now-grown up children of the liberation struggle have been facing, including unemployment, poverty, and homelessness.
Nangolo responded favourably and gave them farming land to engage in agribusiness for self-sustaining.
