Africa-Press – Namibia. A good road network is essential for development. However, those who use the roads in Tsumeb still find it difficult due to the damage and potholes caused by water. It is now being questioned whether the Tsumeb Municipality has any plans to effectively solve the pothole issues, particularly in the locations area.
Road maintenance work has only just begun, with work being done on the road intersections between Shoprite and Tsumeb Shopping Malls. The road surface is still fresh.
Apart from proper road infrastructure, the Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Erastus Uutoni, stated that sanitation is still a problem that needs to be addressed by all local governments. Uutoni said that old sewage systems are leaking water onto the roads, posing a significant problem for many local authorities.
Uutoni encouraged authorities to monitor the construction of infrastructure, as some of it is crumbling.
