Africa-Press – Namibia. NAMIBIA is set to host the AviaDev Africa Forum, an annual event aimed at fostering collaboration and driving economic growth within Africa’s aviation industry, next year.
The announcement was recently made by Dan Kamati, the Marketing Officer of the Namibia Airports Company (NAC), who confirmed that NAC will host the forum in Windhoek in June 2024. Kamati explained that AviaDev Africa brings together influential stakeholders, including airlines, airports, tourism boards, government officials, and industry experts, to promote collaboration, establish strategic partnerships, and explore opportunities for new air routes in Africa.
“AviaDev Africa is a platform for aviation professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders to come together to discuss and develop solutions to the challenges facing the African aviation industry. The conference will feature a range of speakers, panel discussions, and workshops, as well as an exhibition of aviation products and services,” Kamati added.
He highlighted Namibia as a rapidly growing tourism destination with a diverse range of attractions. Key highlights include the Namib Desert, the Skeleton Coast, and the Etosha National Park. Additionally, he added, Namibia boasts a rich cultural heritage with various ethnic groups and languages.
Kamati further explained that by choosing Windhoek as the host city for the 2024 event, AviaDev aims to underscore Namibia’s growing significance as a destination for the aviation industry and its commitment to enhancing regional connectivity.
Bisey /Uirab, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NAC, also echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that Namibia offers an unparalleled tourism experience, from the captivating coastal city of Swakopmund to the ethereal Namib Desert and the awe-inspiring wildlife encounters in Etosha National Park.
“We are eager to share the magic of our destinations and forge partnerships that will further enhance connectivity and drive sustainable tourism growth and new business opportunities,” he added.
