Africa-Press – Namibia. THE inaugural Oneshila Business Expo, scheduled to take place from June 30th to July 1st, 2023 in Oshakati, Oshana Region, is expected to host approximately 20 exhibitors.

The primary objective of the trade show is to revitalize economic activity in Oshakati and restore its former status as a bustling business centre.

Herman Blaauw, manager of Oneshila Service Station and organizer of the fair, expressed his ambition to rejuvenate business in Oshakati this year.

Blaauw began planning the fair earlier this year at Oneshila to reignite business in Oshakati, as Ongwediva already has its own trade fair, prompting them to initiate this event.

In May, they reached out to several companies including Tafel Lager, Namibian Daily, Interpack, Nizzan Toyota, Coca-Cola, and various financial institutions.

“We envisioned long-term benefits for our business community, allowing them to engage with their customers in one location to promote and sell their products and services,” said Blaauw.

He emphasized that the event is a strictly business-centred trade fair but is open to the public free of charge.

“We are currently focused on making this event a success and we rely on the support of the people from the northern region to ensure these two days are a resounding triumph,” he added.

Oshana Security will be present to ensure the safety of attendees and exhibitors, while Engen will offer car owners the opportunity to have their car oil tested during the day.

The event will be officially inaugurated by Oshakati Town Mayor Leonard Hango on Friday, followed by a lineup of entertaining activities planned for the two-day event.
