Africa-PressNamibia. TWO men appeared in the Tsumeb Magistrate’s Court on Friday after they were arrested on Thursday for alleged possession of controlled wildlife products and unpolished diamonds.

According to a crime report issued by the police regional commander, commissioner Armas Shivute, the two suspects, Maseka Paulus (30) and Paulus Ndjamba Augustinus (50), were arrested while attempting to sell the unpolished diamonds to a man at Tsumeb.Shivute said the suspects allegedly used the man as a buyer after he had picked the suspects from a service station and dropped them off at a company where the initial diamond deal was supposed to take place. The suspects were then later arrested upon intelligence driven information.Shivute said the suspects were allegedly found in possession of one pangolin skin and seven unpolished diamond stones. The pangolin skin is valued at about N$50 000 while the value and authenticity of the unpolished diamonds is yet to be determined by the police.The case was postponed to 20 February 2021 pending further police investigations.
