Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Omusati Region officially launched the Governor’s Cup, which is sponsored by PstBet to the tune of N$210 000.
The tournament is slated for the 03-06 August, at the Olufuko Cultural Centre in Outapi.
PstBet is sponsoring the event for the next three years.
Omusati Governor, Erginus Endjala, said the event is a celebration of athleticism, sportsmanship, and the indomitable spirit of competition that brings them all together as one united community.
Endjala indicated that their annual sports tournaments are not merely about games and medals, but symbolize the values that sports instill in them.
“Through sports, we learn discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and the art of pushing ourselves beyond limits we never knew existed,” he said.
He added that it is on this playground where lifelong friendships are forged, and dreams take flight.
Endjala indicated that this year’s sports tournaments are more than just a showcase of athletic prowess; they are a testament to our commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
Hence, he says sports have the power to transcend boundaries and bring people from diverse backgrounds together.
Endjala then urged the community to cherish this opportunity to celebrate unity, diversity, and the joy of being part of something bigger than themselves.
