Africa-Press – Namibia. INTERNATIONAL port security and maritime law-enforcement experts have applauded Namibian private and public sector officials responsible for security at the port of Walvis Bay for their eagerness to protect their country.
The experts facilitated a programme involving 40 Namibian officials graduating from the latest United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime training course at Walvis Bay on Thursday.
The European Union-funded training was conducted under the European Union Programme on Port Security and Safety of Navigation, with the goal of building capacity for maritime and port security, and strengthening law-enforcement agencies.
