Africa-Press – Namibia. The Ministry of Health and Social Services on Monday announced that the country had recorded seven (7) new COVID-19 confirmed cases from one thousand one hundred and seven (1 107) results in the last twenty-four (24) hours reporting cycle, which represents 0.6% positivity ratio.
The sex distribution is six (6) males and one (1) female. The age ranges between twenty-six (26) years and sixty-three (63) years, with six in Windhoek and one in Karasburg.
According to a statement from the ministry, of the confirmed cases is one (1) student. Two (2) cases have receive two (2) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Moreover, four (4) new recoveries were recorded; three (3) from Otjozondjupa region and one (1) from Oshana region.
“The number of active cases is one hundred and fifteen (115). Thirteen (13) are hospitalized, of which one (1) is in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). None of the hospitalized including ICU cases is vaccinated. We are reporting zero (0) death today,” read the statement dated 28 November 2021.
Ultimately, by 27 November 2021, a total of 365 856 people had received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 79 759 have received the Janssen vaccine, administered as one dose, while 227 219 had received two doses. Therefore, 306 978 have completed the vaccination.
The ministry further called upon the nation to remain calm but much cautious and to adhere to the preventive measures with regard to the new COVID-19 variant Omicron, and asked all eligible people to get vaccinated.
