Africa-Press – Namibia. The Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund donated medical equipment worth N$1.1 million to Windhoek Central Hospital.

MVA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rosalia Martins-Hausiku, revealed that the donated equipment includes an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Monitor, a Diathermy Unit, and a Suction Machine.

“These machines are essential for providing quality care to patients, and we are confident that they will make a significant impact on the hospital’s ability to deliver effective healthcare services,” she said.

Martins-Hausiku explained that the ICU monitor allows healthcare professionals to closely monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. She added that the diathermy unit supports a variety of surgical procedures, while the suction machine helps ensure patient safety by effectively clearing airways during medical interventions.

Martins-Hausiku revealed that comprehensive training on the maintenance and operation of the machines will be provided to hospital staff, ensuring they are used optimally.

“The Fund is confident that these high-quality durable machines will provide years of reliable service to the hospital’s ongoing effort to enhance patients’ care and wellbeing. The MVA Fund remains committed to supporting the government’s efforts to maintain the country’s health facilities by pursuing the highest standards,” Martins-Hausiku added.
