Africa-Press – Namibia. THE 14th edition of the Eenhana trade and business expo officially kicked off on Monday and is being held under the theme “Reviving Local Economy Through Business Resilience, Innovation, and Diversification.”
The event, which began on 29 July, will conclude on 4 August 2024.
Town spokesperson Ottilie Shingenge said they have a total of 192 exhibitors, including two international exhibitors from Zambia and Zimbabwe.
According to Shingenge, this year’s expo is bigger and better, with more fun activities expected during the week-long exhibition, including the first-ever cooking competition.
In terms of safety, Shingenge indicated that they have hired a total of 56 security officers to provide safety to the visitors and exhibitors during the expo.
“Chance-takers should be warned that the wrath of the law is not far-reaching and they will be dealt with,” she said.
Further, Shingenge said that the aim is to ensure the safety of the people throughout the expo, as they aim to create a business network for the attendees.
She also revealed that Minister in the Presidency Christine //Hoebes is expected to open the expo on Wednesday.
During the first day, long queues were observed at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security on Monday, where people were queuing up to get their national documents, while various exhibitors were still setting up their stalls.
