Africa-Press – Namibia. NAMWATER has announced a positive development in water levels at the Von Bach and Friedenau Dams, with a marginal inflow recorded.

Recent rainfall across various parts of the country has led to increased inflows into these crucial water reservoirs.

NamWater spokesperson Lot Ndamanomhata said that the Dam Bulletin dated 30 December 2024 highlights positive inflows into key dams, with notable increases in water levels recorded.

“The Von Bach Dam increased by about 1%, and similarly, the Friedenau Dam has seen significant water level increases due to the recent rainfall,” he said.

“This positive development brings much-needed optimism as the rainy season progresses, contributing to improved water security for the country,” Ndamanomhata added.

He expressed hope that continued rainfall will further boost dam levels, ensuring water availability for households, agriculture, and industries.

Ndamanomhata also indicated that NamWater will continue to monitor dam levels closely and keep the public informed through regular updates.

While the recent rainfall provides relief, he emphasized the importance of water conservation practices to ensure the sustainable use of this precious resource.

Meanwhile, no increases were recorded in other dams.
