Africa-Press – Namibia. PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah visited key drought relief warehouses in the North this weekend, where she emphasized the importance of secure food storage, transparent management, and timely distribution to ensure that vulnerable households receive the support they need.
Her visit was part of her continued efforts to monitor the government’s emergency response mechanisms.
In the Oshana Region, the President visited the warehouse at Uukwangula on the outskirts of Oshakati, which serves as the main storage site for drought relief food distributed to both Oshana and Omusati. She also visited the Ohangwena regional warehouse, which stores food supplies designated for communities in the region.
The President is touring the northern regions to assess the effects of heavy rains and floodwater from Angola.
