Africa-Press – Namibia. Acting chief executive officer of Namibia Drydock and Ship Repair company (Namdoc) Heritha Nankole Muyoba, has died.
Muyoba died in a car accident near Kongola in the Zambezi region on Wednesday morning. The company finance manager Dries van Zyl confirmed the news of her passing.
“This came as a shock to us but we have asked the employees to take time out,” he said. Muyoba was an advocate of equality in the workforce and achieving an equal future for women in leadership, especially in the marine industry.
During the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Muyoba was part of the regional team that mobilised financial and human resources to upgrade the health infrastructure in the Erongo region, especially at Walvis Bay. Muyoba served on boards of several parastatals, including Air Namibia. Zambezi police are investigating the cause of the accident.
