Africa-Press – Namibia. PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on Tuesday received a farewell courtesy visit from the outgoing Ambassador of Angola to Namibia, Jovelina Imperial e Costa, who has concluded her six-year diplomatic mission in Namibia and has been reassigned to exercise the same functions in Mozambique.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah lauded the quality of diplomatic relations between Namibia and Angola, which she said have grown exponentially over the past six years.
The President said that both countries continue to place great emphasis on economic diplomacy, which has translated into tangible developmental benefits for both countries.
She thanked Ambassador Imperial e Costa for her excellent contributions to the quality of bilateral cooperation between Namibia and Angola.
Ambassador Imperial e Costa is replaced by Pedro Mutindi, a veteran Angolan politician who is no stranger to Namibians.
He was, for almost two decades, the governor of the Cunene Province, which borders Namibia and served as a haven for Namibian guerrilla fighters during the liberation struggle.
He also served as governor of the Cuando Cubango Province, which too borders Namibia.
