Triumphant College: Building a future-ready university …over 500 graduates

Africa-Press – Namibia.
In line with this year’s theme, “Building a Future-Ready University through accountability and resilience”, Triumphant College conferred 523 graduates during a vibrant ceremony last Thursday.

The event, held at its Khomasdal campus, marked a significant milestone in the institution’s ongoing commitment to producing skilled, adaptable and responsible graduates equipped with skills to contribute meaningfully to Namibia’s socio-economic development.

This was said by Edda Bohn, the deputy executive director of formal education.

Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Education Sanet Steenkamp, Bohn commended the graduates for their perseverance, and emphasised the crucial role they will play in shaping the country’s future.

“The Namibian people are our greatest asset. We shall invest in a skilled, knowledgeable and competent workforce to drive economic growth and social transformation,” said Bohn.

She was emphasising the institution’s alignment with the goals outlined in the Swapo manifesto for 2024-2029, which prioritises education and human capital development as key pillars for national progress.

She added that the College is actively realising this vison through strategic efforts in aligning its academic programmes with national development goals.

“From skills-based programmes in green energy, AI, cybersecurity, to its pursuit of university status, the college is equipping graduates with skills to shape not only their futures, but also the future of Namibia.”

Bohn highlighted that the institution’s recognition that “education without quality is a betrayal of the future” speaks volumes, commending it for building internal systems of accountability and academic integrity.

This is because the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA) visited the college for expansion accreditation, and in just a few weeks from 2 June to 13 June, the college will undergo an institutional audit by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).

Bohn further reflected on this year’s graduation theme, stating that its essence lies in understanding that “resilience is not merely about surviving, it is about adapting, improving and thriving amid change.

“Graduates, make courageous and wise decisions. Start small and dream big. Be accountable. Be resilient and above all, never stop learning…let your journey of success reflect the power of vision, values and education,” she urged.

The day was filled with celebration, pride and promise as 523 students beamed with pride as they received their caps, with proud parents witnessing the conferment.

The ceremony celebrated achievements in diverse academic disciplines including engineering, legal studies, tourism, business studies and IT, highlighting the college’s ongoing commitment to higher education and skills’ development in Namibia.
