Africa-Press – Namibia. Senior officials from key government institutions recently completed a 15-day training course on strategic development planning, effective monitoring and evaluation in China.
The course, attended by 24 officials from 14 to 28 May 2025, was sponsored by the Chinese government and organised by Hunan International Business Vocational College.
Trainees were from the Office of the President, the Office of the Prime Minister, the National Planning Commission, the Development Bank of Namibia, and Ministries of Works and Transport, Information and Communication Technology, Agriculture, Water and Land Reform and Fisheries, and Justice and Labour Relations.
A statement released on Sunday by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology indicated that two speakers, Lan Xiao, a representative of the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, and Fu Yunhui, Vice Dean of the China-aid Training Faculty of Hunan International Business Vocational College, both emphasised the critical role of strategic planning and monitoring and evaluation in national governance and sustainable development.
The training programme will not only enhance the professional capacity of Namibian government officials, but also promote deeper policy alignment and practical cooperation between China and Namibia, the statement reads.
