Africa-Press – Namibia. Current Otjombinde constituency councillor Wenzel Kavaka will stand as a candidate for the Swapo party for the upcoming Regional Councils and Local Authority elections in November.

Swapo’s district coordinator for Otjombinde Tjovavi Tjituka confirmed to New Era that Kavaka was unopposed for the Swapo candidacy position.

He added that all eight party branches in the constituency rallied behind him.

“The honourable councillor is back because of his good work. The party members and members of other parties acknowledged his work in Otjombinde. He is now experienced and will continue to deliver for the constituency,” he said.

Tjituka further called on party members to prepare themselves and ensure they have voter cards for the upcoming November elections.

“You must make sure to make the right choice by voting for your comrade Kavaka. He is the son of this district. His work is self-explanatory. No one can lie to him about this constituency. He will continue adding development, as he is aware of our needs,” said the district coordinator.

Kavaka expressed excitement and appreciated the support from all the party cadres in the Otjombinde constituency.

“I am expressing my sincere appreciation to the Swapo party leadership at all levels – from sections, branches and districts to the regional and national structures – for the trust and confidence you have placed in me. I am deeply honoured by this endorsement, and I don’t take it lightly,” he said.

The councillor added that his endorsement is not just about him, but the shared vision, a collective journey and the continued commitment to deliver development, peace and prosperity for every resident of Otjombinde.

“Together, we have walked a path over the past five years that has not always been easy, but it has been filled with purpose and progress,” said the youthful councillor.

Among the developments in his tenure, the Swapo councillor mentioned the improvement in the infrastructure, access to basic services and enhanced support for farmers and young people.

“We have laid a strong foundation, but the journey is far from over. This is why I am asking for your continued support and unity as we take on this journey forward, not for myself but for the people,” he said.

Kavaka stated that Swapo remains the beacon of hope, stability and development in Namibia.

“As we are approaching the November 2025 elections, I call upon all Swapo Party members and sympathisers, the youth, elders, business community, farmers and every proud son and daughter of Otjombinde to rally together. Let us unite behind the Swapo party. Let us speak with one voice and stand with one purpose to retain Otjombinde under the banner of Swapo,” he urged.

He called for mobilisation from door to door, homestead to homestead and village to village.

He said members should carry their messages of development, peace and inclusivity to every corner of the constituency.

“I pledge to serve with integrity, transparency and dedication, guided by the principles of our mighty Swapo Party. Otjombinde belongs to the people. Otjimbinde belongs to Swapo. Let us move forward together in unity, in purpose and victory,” Kavaka said.
