IN a pivotal address to the Standing Committee on Economy and Industry, Public Administration and Planning of the National Assembly recently, Mr. Titus Nampala, Chief Executive Officer of the Namibian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (“NCCI”), outlined a bold vision to reinforce the Chamber’s position as the trusted and influential voice of Business Namibia.
“Our mission is clear,” underscored Mr. Nampala. “We are enhancing brand credibility and deepening trust across business, government and civil society. The Chamber must be seen not only as a convener but as a catalyst for inclusive economic transformation.”
We are working towards the same goal
Mr. Nampala emphasised that the Chamber’s renewed focus will facilitate that its members – from large corporates to MSMEs – are heard, represented and empowered. “We are working toward the same goal. Let us work together,” he told the committee.
“The Chamber is here to amplify the voice of every Namibian business, big or small and to ensure that our policy environment reflects the realities on the ground.”
Global competitiveness meets local relevance
The Chamber will be actively working to balance Namibia’s global competitiveness with local relevance. With strong private sector performance across mining, finance, agriculture, manufacturing and tourism, NCCI is advocating for reforms that adapt to shifting national, regional and global dynamics.
“Namibia must be a place where international investors find opportunity and where Namibian entrepreneurs thrive,” Mr. Nampala said. “We are building a Chamber that listens, leads and delivers.”
Strengthening public–private partnerships
Mr. Nampala highlighted the Chamber’s role in supporting Namibia’s Public–Private Partnership (PPP) Policy, which recognises the potential of PPPs to drive employment, revenue generation and skills transfer. By co-investing with private partners, government can fast-track critical infrastructure – roads, water, power, and telecoms – while sharing risk and unlocking innovation.
“We must strengthen public–private partnerships,” Mr. Nampala added. “This is not just about infrastructure, it is about building a resilient, inclusive economy.”
Supporting growth across all sectors
As the Chamber for Business Namibia, NCCI remains committed to advancing a supportive environment for the entire business spectrum. This commitment includes driving reforms aligned with the National Development Plan to strengthen the operating climate for corporates, while also promoting inclusivity for MSMEs through policy-review platforms, tailored support schemes, and grassroots engagement – ensuring that every segment of the business community can thrive.
“No Namibian should be left behind,” Mr. Nampala affirmed. “SMEs are the heartbeat of inclusive growth. We must co-create solutions that generate sustainable, decent jobs and unlock opportunity at every level.”
A call for shared responsibility for economic transformation
In closing, Mr. Nampala appealed to Parliament and the broader business community to work together in a spirit of collaboration, underscoring the shared responsibility of driving national development. “We are not adversaries. We are allies,” he said.
“The Chamber stands ready to support and build. Together, we can shape a future where policy, investment, and innovation work hand in hand.”
