Africa-Press – Namibia. A large number of young people are queuing up to apply for the National Youth Entrepreneurship Fund.
As of Wednesday, more than 1 000 applications had been received and more applications are still being submitted.
The deadline for the applications is on Thursday, 4 September.
The Ministry of Finance has allocated N$257 million for the youth fund in the 2025/26 financial year with the aim to raise N$500 million annually.
The pilot phase of the applications started last month and the full rollout is expected to start in November.
The fund provides low-interest loans and grants for youth-led ventures in various sectors like agriculture, manufacturing and information and communication technology.
The fund targets Namibians aged 18 to 35 with viable business plans and offers funding for startups and growth-stage enterprises, aiming to create jobs and boost economic contribution.
