Africa-Press – Namibia. The Affirmative Repositioning (AR) has been elected by the nation to secure jobs for young people, and to make sure they have access to quality education, economic freedom and information.
This is according to the party’s National Assembly chief whip, Vaino Hangula.
He says the AR has been tasked to introduce motions in parliament that speaks to the needs of the people, but it has not been easy.
This is illustrated by the oversight committee discovering pupils being taught under trees at Ndama East at Rundu, as well as dilapidated buildings falling apart due to contractors “running off” without completing projects.
“Enough is enough. It’s time for us to secure the future of the generation that will come after us, and as a party we will hold the incumbent government accountable,” he says.
Hangula said this at the AR’s press briefing on its work so far in parliament on Thursday.
Hangula said during an oversight the AR came across unaccounted-for funds and dilapidated infrastructure.
“The worrying part of this is that nobody has been held accountable for many years, and taxpayers’ money is just misused – no questions asked.
“We are saying enough. If no one will, the AR will certainly.
“We are here to fight for the betterment of the nation,” he said.
