The Capricorn Foundation has invested N$41.6 million in more than 100 corporate social responsibility projects since its establishment in 2020. The foundation is funded by Capricorn Group’s Namibian subsidiaries Bank Windhoek, Capricorn Asset Management, and Entrepo.
“We look forward to making even more positive impact in the next five years and to also apply the experience of the past five years, to assist other NGO’s to build capacity, including our subsidiary in Botswana, where we are in the process of establishing the Capricorn Foundation,” said Marlize Horn, executive officer of the Capricorn Foundation.
The Capricorn Group released its 2025 Social Value Report, providing a consolidated view of the Group and its subsidiaries’ CSR activities for the year ending 30 June 2025.
The report highlighted the Group’s investments in addressing social challenges such as education, job creation, poverty, malnutrition, and health. It also marked the Foundation’s fifth anniversary as a registered welfare organisation.
For the year ending 30 June, Capricorn Group, including the Foundation and subsidiaries Bank Windhoek, Capricorn Asset Management, Entrepo, and Bank Gaborone, invested N$26.7 million in social responsibility programmes in Namibia and Botswana, compared to N$25.8 million in 2024.
“We are proud of the progress made in addressing Namibia’s key social issues, such as food insecurity, educational inequality, youth unemployment, vulnerability and contributing to sports development. We take pride in the Capricorn Foundation, which has become a trusted partner in community upliftment. Our collective efforts in every entity and the Foundation are a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and purpose-driven action, and reflect our commitment to building a more inclusive and resilient society both in Namibia and Botswana,” said Gerhard Fourie, Capricorn Group and Capricorn Foundation chairperson.
The group said communities in Namibia and Botswana benefit from its success, which enables the company to create and preserve value for all stakeholders.
“As a responsible corporate citizen, Capricorn Group collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure we fulfil our duty to society,” the group said.
