THE Namibian ambassadors and high commissioners who have completed their tours of duty abroad and have returned home have congratulated President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah for the manner in which she is steering the affairs of state.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues during an audience at State House on Tuesday, the Dean of Returning Heads of Mission, Vilho Hifindaka, commended the President’s steadfast commitment to good governance, accountability, and the rule of law; her bold economic vision, especially the emphasis on natural resource beneficiation, renewable energy, agriculture, and infrastructure development; and her exemplary leadership as Namibia’s first female President, inspiring women and girls across the nation and beyond, while elevating Namibia’s standing as a country championing inclusivity and gender equality.

He also commended her for prioritising education, youth empowerment, and innovation, which resonates deeply with the aspirations of younger generations and strengthens Namibia’s long-term competitiveness.

“These achievements and priorities gave us, as diplomats, a strong and credible narrative to present abroad,” he said, “reinforcing Namibia’s positive image under your leadership.”

Hifindaka said that the returning heads of mission sincerely appreciate the trust and confidence placed in them to represent Namibia, safeguard her interests, and project her voice on the international stage.

“We return with humility and gratitude,” he said, noting that throughout their assignments, they endeavoured to translate Namibia’s foreign policy priorities into tangible outcomes: deepening bilateral relations, promoting trade and investment, serving Namibian citizens abroad, and defending Namibia’s principled positions in multilateral fora.

“Each of us has submitted comprehensive reports and handover notes to ensure continuity of opportunities, especially in trade, investment, and cooperation pipelines,” he said.

Hifindaka pointed out that contemporary challenges, geopolitical shifts, climate change, and global economic uncertainty require foresight and flexibility.

“To this end, we aligned our diplomatic efforts with your vision — building partnerships, mobilising resources, and securing opportunities that advance Namibia’s development agenda,” said Hifindaka, who wished the Almighty’s continued blessings upon the President as she leads the nation towards shared prosperity.
