Africa-Press – Namibia. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah urged Namibian ambassadors and high commissioners who have completed their tours of duty abroad to use their international experience to strengthen the country’s national priorities when she welcomes them back on Tuesday.

Speaking at the State House, the President praised the diplomats for representing Namibia with “selfless service and dedication” across the globe.

She noted that their work had left a positive mark on both bilateral and multilateral platforms, adding that the knowledge and skills they gained abroad now belongs to the nation.

“Knowledge is a valuable resource, and sharing it with the Namibian people makes us all rich,” President Nandi-Ndaitwah said.

She encouraged returning envoys to contribute directly to the government’s seven priority areas: agriculture, sports, youth empowerment, quality education and training, creative industries, quality health, and land, housing and sanitation.

The President further highlighted the country’s ‘enablers’ for development, which include mining, water, energy, tourism, fisheries, transport and logistics.

She called on diplomats and other citizens to invest in these sectors rather than leaving the responsibility to foreign investors.

“We cannot just always talk about foreign investors. Let us be investors. The government is here to facilitate and protect investment in Namibia,” she said.

In his response on behalf of the returning envoys, Ambassador Vilio Hifindaka expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them and congratulated the President for her leadership.

He praised her commitment to good governance, accountability, and the rule of law, as well as her focus on natural resource beneficiation, renewable energy, agriculture and infrastructure development.

Hifindaka also commended Nandi-Ndaitwah’s example as Namibia’s first female Head of State, saying her leadership “inspires women and girls across our nation and beyond” and strengthens the country’s global standing.

He assured the President that the diplomats had worked to promote trade, investment and Namibia’s principled positions abroad.

“These achievements and priorities gave us, as diplomats, a strong and credible narrative to present,” he said.

The President concluded by urging the envoys to remain active contributors at home.

“You have been pursuing our national policy internationally.

Now you can pursue it locally,” she said.
