IPC fields candidates in all Ohangwena constituencies

Africa-Press – Namibia. The northern spokesperson of the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC), Eino Heelu, said the party has fielded 12 candidates who will contest all constituencies of the Ohangwena region during the upcoming regional elections, scheduled to take place on 26 November 2025.

Heelu revealed this to New Era yesterday.

“We are ready to take over Ohangwena. Our hope is in the Ohangwena region,” he said.

Heelu said IPC candidates will contest for seats in the local authorities, Eenhana (7), Helao Nafidi (7) and Okongo Village Council with five candidates.

During the 2024 Presidential and National Assembly elections, IPC won 20 seats in the National Assembly and currently holds 2 seats in the National Council.

Heelu promised that if IPC wins any of the Ohangwena constituencies, they will prioritise addressing the region’s water crisis.

“We have seen many people suffering due to lack of clean water. That is why we want to win the whole of Ohangwena and fulfil our promises,” he stressed.

He further urged the people of Ohangwena, especially the youth, to come out in large numbers and vote for IPC.

“IPC is the only party that will bring services closer to the people,” he said.

According to Heelu, IPC will focus on building more classrooms, clinics, hospitals, as well as road infrastructure.

“Our manifesto clearly states that we will prioritise job creation to address the high unemployment rate in the country.”

He added that IPC does not discriminate against anyone and is a party that stands for unity.

“Once we are voted into power in local authorities, we will ensure that people have access to land to build decent homes,” he stated.

Heelu admitted that since IPC’s establishment, the party has never won any regional elections in the Ohangwena.

“Currently, we have a total of four councillors serving at the Eenhana Town Council and Helao Nafidi Town Council,” he said.
