Africa-Press – Namibia. Bennetty Lukukela Busihu, the councillor for Kongola constituency

and a member of the National Council, unveiled his manifesto.

It outlines key community-driven projects aimed at transforming livelihoods across the constituency.

Addressing a lively crowd during the launch over the weekend, he reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and youth empowerment.

He highlighted projects already underway and those planned for the next phase of his leadership.

“These are not just promises. They are real actions already in motion. We are building from the ground up, with initiatives such as brick molding for the construction of Khwedam Radio in the Chetto area. This platform will amplify local voices and promote community dialogue,” said the independent candidate.

Among the priorities highlighted in his manifesto is the construction of Khwedam radio.

He said a community-driven broadcasting station with brick-moulding already initiated is to serve as an information hub for Kongola residents.

He said he will establish the Kamenga Shrine, which will be developed through government intervention to preserve local heritage and promote cultural tourism.

The other is the Kamenga Bonanza Cup, which was launched in 2022.

This annual tournament features netball, volleyball and soccer, all of which he vowed will continue as a platform to unite the youth and nurture sporting talent.

Busihu promised to ensure the completion of the Manyeha Leather Processing Project.

This, he said, is the key economic driver set to create significant employment opportunities within the youth sector.

Busihu pledged to ensure completion of the Kongola Settlement Project, initiated in 2008, as part of his constituency’s long-term development plan.

He stressed the importance of adhering to Namibia’s democratic principles and constitutional values as he seeks renewed voter support.

“Namibia is governed by the supreme law – the Constitution of the Republic of Namibia. Article 70 allows any person who has reached the age of 18 to participate in political activities and vote for a candidate of their choice. I stand here as an independent candidate under that right. I know that, together, we will continue to build Kongola,” he stated.

Having won the 2020 Regional Election as an independent candidate, Busihu continues to position himself as a people-centred leader, focused on inclusive development and sustainable progress.

“Our mission is clear – to uplift communities, empower the youth and ensure that every project brings real change,” he said.

He added that his independent candidacy “is not just a name but a movement for the people of Kongola”.
