Africa-Press – Namibia. Kunene regional governor, Vipuakuje Muharukua, yesterday called on Outjo youth to capitalise on the government’s youth development fund.
Muharukua said this during an information session on the National Youth Development Fund held at Etoshapoort Community Hall in Outjo.
“It is our responsibility to make sure that young people become business people,” Muharukua said. He urged young people to get out of their shells and confidently apply for government opportunities.
He emphasised inclusivity, stating that the National Youth Development Fund is open to all races, and encouraged farmers from the Afrikaans community to apply.
“I encourage black and white people to collaborate on business ideas for the economic development of Kunene,” Muharukua said.
He called on Outjo youth to come up with business ideas that are worth funding.
“Think outside the box together. Let’s dream big,” he said.
He also encouraged collaboration among people with the same business ideas. He shared that the governor’s office and the regional councillor’s office will engage with the youth monthly for better coordination.
Also present at the event were representatives from the Ministry of Finance, who presented detailed presentations of the National Youth Development Fund application form and its requirements.
