Africa-Press – Namibia. THE National Youth Service (NYS) has announced the 2026 intake for its Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme, inviting selected trainees to report to the NYS Rietfontein Technical Centre in the Otjozondjupa Region for registration and commencement of training.
The intake forms part of NYS’s mandate under the National Youth Service Act (Act No. 6 of 2005) to provide national service, recognised skills training and personal development opportunities to Namibian youth. The TVET programmes offered by the Service are registered with the Namibia Training Authority (NTA) and accredited by the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA).
Selected trainees are required to report to the Rietfontein Technical Centre between 2 and 13 February 2026. Trainees are expected to bring their original school leaving certificates (Grade 10, 11 or 12), original identity documents, bedding, basic eating utensils (plate, bowl, mug, spoon and fork), as well as personal toiletries.
For enquiries, trainees may contact Ms Tabita Shangula on 081 714 8060 or 067 231 9015, or Ms Hildegardt Naimhwaka on 081 253 1993. Enquiries should be made strictly during working hours.
The NYS continues to position TVET as a key pathway to youth empowerment, skills development and improved employability across the country.
