Africa-Press – Namibia. FOREIGN military attachés accredited to Namibia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defence cooperation and promoting diplomacy during a New Year courtesy call on the Chief of the Namibian Defence Force, Air Marshal Martin K. Pineas, at Defence Headquarters.
Ten foreign military attachés and advisers from Angola, Botswana, Brazil, China, Cuba, Russia, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe paid the courtesy call. The delegation was led by Ethel Mantfhadi Kgadimonyane, the South African defence adviser and Dean of the Foreign Military Attachés/Advisors Association.
Speaking on behalf of her colleagues, Colonel Kgadimonyane reaffirmed their commitment to fostering peaceful international relations, strengthening defence cooperation and promoting diplomacy as a cornerstone of sustainable peace. She said the attachés looked forward to deepening collaboration in the year ahead to advance peace, security and development for the benefit of their nations.
Air Marshal Pineas urged the attachés to maintain their engagement and commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation. He noted that significant progress had been made over the past year in enhancing military partnerships, advancing peace and security, and consolidating collective defence efforts, adding that further opportunities for cooperation and regular engagement would be pursued in the year ahead.
Foreign military attachés and advisers play a key role in strengthening ties between their respective countries and Namibia, promoting collaboration, mutual understanding and sustained diplomatic engagement.
