Navachab Gold Mine donates N$250 000 to Nimt

Africa-Press – Namibia. QKR Navachab Gold Mine has donated mechanical training equipment valued at N$250 000 to the Namibia Institute of Mining and Technology’s Arandis Campus.

The donation was handed over during a ceremony on Monday.

Speaking on behalf of managing director George Botshiwe, spokesperson McLyn Kasale said the donation reflects Navachab’s commitment to education and training as a key pillar of its corporate social responsibility programme.

“Today’s donation of one lathe, one milling machine and one bandsaw is a practical demonstration of this commitment,” Botshiwe says.

He says sustainable mining is not only about responsibly extracting mineral resources, but about investing in people and developing technical capacity that sustains both the industry and the country.

Through an existing agreement between the mine and the institution, students requiring job exposure, internship placements, apprenticeship opportunities and graduate development programmes are accommodated at the mine in meaningful numbers.

“This donation is more than equipment. It is an investment in Namibia’s future. It is a reaffirmation of our partnership. And it is a statement that when industry and education collaborate, we accelerate national development,” Botshiwe says.
