Africa-Press – Namibia. PRESIDENT Dr Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has been nominated for the African Person of the Year 2025 award by the African Leadership Organisation, publishers of African Leadership Magazine, following strong public support from across the continent.

According to the organisation, the nomination follows an overwhelming response from readers, stakeholders and followers across Africa who participated in the public call for submissions. It reflects the esteem in which President Nandi-Ndaitwah’s leadership, integrity and commitment to good governance are held on the continent.

The Persons of the Year Awards is regarded as one of Africa’s most respected leadership platforms. Previous honourees include Mo Ibrahim, Atiku Abubakar, Jakaya Kikwete, Goodluck Jonathan, John Magufuli, Lazarus Chakwera, Julius Maada Bio, Dr Akinwumi Adesina and Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus. Namibia has also been recognised in past editions, with leaders such as Emma Theofelus and Lucia Iipumbu earning continental accolades.

Public voting for this year’s awards is now open and will run until 01:00 Namibian time on 1 December 2025 via the African Leadership Magazine website. Supporters in Namibia and abroad have been encouraged to cast their votes and share the link to back the nomination.
