Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>A 59-YEAR-OLD father succumbed to injuries which was a result of a hippo in the Ikaba area on Friday.<\/b><\/p>\n

The deceased was identified as Moses Musialela and his next of kin was informed of his death.<\/p>\n

Zambezi regional police spokesperson inspector Kisco Sitali confirmed the incident to The Namibian saying that Musialela was on crossing back in a canoe after dropping his children at school at the time he was attacked.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe family members came to his rescue and rushed him to the clinic. Unfortunately, he did not survive,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Sitali added that this is the second hippo attack in the region this year as a security guard also lost his life on the 28 January in Mafuta compound, while on duty at a bar.<\/p>\n

The incident happened around 02h00.<\/p>\n

He was identified as Mubita Mubita.<\/p>\n
