Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Trustco Group Holdings Limited (\u201cTrustco\u201d) salutes the seven young, dynamic individuals that completed its latest junior board mentorship programme.<\/p>\n

This successful mentorship programme that was conducted over a period of a year produced some of the best talent since its inception in 2018, when the first Junior Board Mentorship Programme was introduced.<\/p>\n

At the time a need was identified in young professional individuals who all have impressive CV\u2019s and leadership potential, but lacked essential boardroom experience.<\/p>\n

The Namibian vision of Trustco remains to develop tangible projects to discover and enhance the natural skill and talent of its youth, ensuring a continuous high level of performance as expected in a robust private and SOE sector environment.<\/p>\n

This board training programme has its origins in Trustco\u2019s Group Managing Director, Dr Quinton van Rooyen, \u201cThis year is the 30th anniversary of the founding of Trustco. At the time, I could not imagine the success of the group 30 years on.<\/p>\n

With a capable team of abled Namibians with an immense drive for success, we established a strong leadership culture that can be emulated by the next generation, if we only give them the opportunity to show their mettle.<\/p>\n

I have no doubt that the Namibian youth sees our program as preferred in carving out their own legacy for their country and its people,\u201d he said. \u201cThe youth are full of ideas and general enthusiasm.<\/p>\n

It often takes these young individuals to identify that special opportunity that the previous generation of staff and board members may have overlooked. The opportunity for exposure to board meetings is a platform to stimulate their nascent creativity.<\/p>\n

Their improved skills in the areas of corporate governance, finance, branding, communications, digital marketing, advertising, social media, public relations, web and graphic design, strategic partnerships and technology leaves a fresh national asset as a future legacy for skill sharing and generational transition.<\/p>\n

Their ability to work on substantive programming challenges with senior executives forms part of the appeal of this development programme,\u201d noted Adv Raymond Heathcote, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trustco.<\/p>\n

The following seven Junior Board mentees successfully completed the gruelling programme; \u2022 Fwafwa Lysen Sifu \u2013 Fwafwa has a Master\u2019s degree in Financial Management from Amity University, a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting as well as a Certificate in Financial Risk Management from the University of Namibia.<\/p>\n

He is currently employed as a Financial Analyst. \u2022 Chairmaine Taati van der Smit \u2013 Taati has a Master of Laws degree (LLM) in Commercial Law from the University of Cape Town as well a Bachelor\u2019s degree (LLB) (Hon) from the University of Namibia.<\/p>\n

Taati is the current Senior Legal Officer in the Legal Advice Directorate of the Attorney-General\u2019s office. \u2022 Ndapwa Tulina Kwedhi \u2013 Ndapwa holds a degree in Economics and a postgraduate diploma in Financial Planning.<\/p>\n

She has over six years\u2019 experience in the financial services sector. \u2022 Hosea Kambonde \u2013 Hosea is currently pursuing a Master\u2019s degree in Business Administration: Business Strategy and Leadership.<\/p>\n

He holds a degree in Software Engineering and a National Diploma in Information Technology from the Namibia University of Science and Technology. Furthermore, Hosea has also completed Certificates in Project and Business management at the University of Stellenbosch Business School.<\/p>\n

He is currently heading a Software Development and Enterprise solutions service provision company, iMarketing Consultant. \u2022 Auriel Aweries \u2013 Auriel has been part of the marketing and advertising industry since 2005 with extensive experience working for some of the country\u2019s leading corporates and agencies.<\/p>\n

She is currently the acting head of media for Trustco, heading up Mixed Marketing, Multimedia, Informant\u00e9 News and Informant\u00e9 Live. She has been with the group for almost five years.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Iyaloo Akuaake \u2013 Iyaloo is an environmentalist who holds an Honours degree in Environmental Management from the University of Cape Town and a postgraduate diploma in Renewable Energy and Sustainability from the University of Stellenbosch.<\/p>\n

Iyaloo was previously appointed as the Environmental Officer at Trustco Group Holdings, but with a passion for the environment, renewable energy and sustainable development, Iyaloo will be pursuing her Master\u2019s degree in 2022 at the University of Cape Town.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Hilya Herman \u2013 Hilya holds a Master\u2019s degree in Commercial Law (LLM) from the University of Witwatersrand, a Bachelor\u2019s of Laws degree (LLB) from Rhodes University as well as a Master\u2019s degree in Philosophy and Development Finance from the University of Stellenbosch Business School.<\/p>\n

Other qualifications include a diploma in Banks and Financial Institutions, Strategies and Management through Galilee International Management Institute and a short course in Pension Fund Law done through UNISA. Hilya is also a member of the Law Society of Namibia.<\/p>\n

Hilya currently serves as the Chairperson of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee at the Central Procurement Board of Namibia and also serves as Chairperson of the Institute for Open Learning Malpractice Committee.<\/p>\n
