Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>LOCAL businesses people will not to be able to register as members of the Namibia Local Business Association (NALOBA) if still members of the Namibia Chambers of Commerce and Industry (NCCI).<\/p>\n

NALOBA vice-president Peter Amadhila made the announcement at a press briefing held at Ongwediva on Friday, saying they cannot accept people \u201cbeing biased\u201d.<\/p>\n

Amadhila said the association, established in 2021, has so far registered over 2 000 members who have resigned from the NCCI \u201cwith more registrations flowing in\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll our members have resigned from the NCCI since the beginning of this year and many more continue to resign,\u201d he said. Amadhila said NALOBA is an all-Namibian business and non-profit association that is not politically affiliated and not tribalistic.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe association is established to be a voice, a true heart to business interests and needs of all native Namibian businessmen and women throughout all 14 regions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The organisation has vowed to give a voice to local business people, as well as small and medium enterprises who they claim were never represented by the NCCI.<\/p>\n

Amadhila said to ensure all this is done, they will approach banks to relax the interest rates and loan repayment years. The organisation will also approach the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) about tax relief for start-up organisations.<\/p>\n

Amadhila said everybody is welcome to join NALOBA and the first year\u2019s membership is free. NALOBA members have also requested a formal appointment with President Hage Geingob to brief him about the association.<\/p>\n
