Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>Roads Authority of Namibia CEO Conrad Lutombi last week officially opened the Mandume Ndemufayo interchange in Windhoek for traffic to ease and decongest the roads.<\/p>\n

The project has four interchanges, including Mandume Ndemufayo, which links the city to the south and also connects the eastern parts of the city as you are going to Hosea Kutako Airport.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis nine-kilometre project will help to free or decongest the traffic, which we are witnessing now. We want to inform road users that they must observe road signs because the eastern and western sides will be open to traffic,\u201d cautioned Lutombi.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThe next link is the Gobabis interchange, which we are going to rename. This interchange is linking to Rehoboth. Then there is the Auas interchange, which links the town to Prosperita as well as Cimbebasia, which will be followed by the Robert Mugabe interchange.<\/p>\n

We are optimistic that come July, we will be able to complete the entire phase one\u201d. \u201cThis road infrastructure cost about N$950 million and we are quite happy.<\/p>\n

We brought in about 350 people, and about 39 small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This is a joint venture between a foreign and Namibian companies,\u201d stated Lutombi on the project that started in 2016.<\/p>\n
