Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>BANK Windhoek has put N$100 million into developing 133 commercial and residential properties with 14 partners in northern Namibia.<\/b><\/p>\n

This was said by the bank’s managing director, Baronice Hans, at the northern annual estate agents awards ceremony held at Oshakati earlier this month.<\/p>\n

She said northern Namibia has always been a strategic focus area for Bank Windhoek, as shown by the bank having a footprint of 16 branches and 106 ATMs.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost importantly, our staff complement of 164 dedicated men and women demonstrates our commitment to our customers in this region,\u201d said Hans.<\/p>\n

\u201cDevelopment in the north is still relatively subdued. The bank looks forward to supporting the industry in its entirety once the economy has recovered,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Hans added that the volatile economic environment poses challenges for businesses and individual households in Namibia but she emphasised that there is hope for the property market, as the latest data shows recovery.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are still unsure of just how the war in Ukraine will affect us and the property market. What we know is that we have seen drastic increases in the price of fuel which will translate into increased inflation and normally an increase in interest rates. We sincerely hope that things will turn around for the better,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Hans said the awards recognise residential and commercial estate agents, agencies, and developers all over the country for their support to the bank and its customers.<\/p>\n

\u201cRelationships are the cornerstone of our business. We value the support you have given Bank Windhoek by making us your partner of choice in providing Namibians with their very own homes,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Regent Real Estates scooped the top estate agency award, followed by Hippo Real Estate and Ediva Real Estates with Timoteus Iita, Menethe Nikodemus and Simeon Iita named the top agents in the north.<\/p>\n

Timoteus Iita said he made sure his customers are well serviced, while Simeon Iita said innovation has always been his strategy as an estate agent. \u201cYou must be innovative by applying research, experimenting, and planning,\u201d said Simeon Iita.<\/p>\n
