Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>ALL-CONQUERING MTC Namibia Netball Premier League title holders Namibian Correctional Service (NCS) will be out to preserve their unbeaten start at Walvis Bay this weekend.<\/b><\/p>\n

They face coastal sides Eleven Arrows this evening, the Namibian Navy tomorrow afternoon, and Blue Waters on Sunday. All three rivals, stationed in mid-table and red zone, have made inconsistent starts to the new season.<\/p>\n

Arrows have won one match and lost as many, while the Navy have a solitary win and two losses so far, and second-last Blue Waters have been beaten in all four of their outings.<\/p>\n

The champions are not taking this weekend’s assignments lightly, despite the indifferent form of their opponents, with head coach Manuel Tjivera wary of complacency setting in.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe approach is one match at a time, and for our players to remain current and calm. The season has started well,\u201d he says of his team’s three opening victories.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo team is to be underestimated as we are playing home and away, so it’s all about giving it your best all the time. All the matches have different dynamics,\u201d Tjivera says.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have long forgotten we are the defending champions. We only know of it when you start posing questions, like now.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur focus is on the present and the goals we set ourselves for the new year. We will have to play each and every time twice \u2013 that’s the tricky part.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is all about approaching each and every match with a positive mindset, and being in it till the end of the match,\u201d Tjivera says. Nearest rivals Tigers, who have lost once, will also journey to Walvis Bay to take on Blue Waters tomorrow, and Arrows on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Tigers and NCS are level on six points, the same tally amassed by Mighty Gunners in third, Afrocat just below them, and Otjo Nampol at position number six.<\/p>\n

Unbeaten after three fixtures, the Gunners will take aim at the exuberant Young Stars and basement dwellers Northern Fly Ballers this weekend. Tomorrow’s action includes Arrows versus Afrocat, Rebels against Otjozondjupa Nampol, and Grootfontein taking on the Ballers. In Sunday’s other match-ups, the Navy will face Afrocat, with Young Stars battling Nampol, and the Rebels up against Grootfontein.<\/p>\n
