Africa-Press<\/a> – Namibia<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE 93-year-old Hilaria Vanyana who lost all her belongings when her house burned down received much-needed help from Project Hope. Project Hope Namibia has been supporting the government to implement HIV\/AIDS-related programmes since 2002.<\/p>\n

Project Hope\u2019s Ohangwena Regional Programme Manager, Saara Eliphas pointed out that the family also received some assistance a day before the fire destroyed their home.<\/p>\n

Eliphas said that due to fact that the family has been receiving assistance, they again decided to render assistance because they lost all their food reserves in the blaze.<\/p>\n

\u201cProject Hope received the news of the fire incident through the Ondobe Constituency Councillor,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The organization donated five blankets, secondhand clothes, two double beds and two mattresses. According to Eliphas, nine beneficiaries were registered by their CCW\u2019s from Hamukoto was Kappa Clinic.<\/p>\n

She pointed out that the goal of the project is to reduce the impact, transmission and spread of HIV\/AIDS through a comprehensive and integrated community-based response that provides a range of care and support interventions for vulnerable groups and populations infected and affected by the virus.<\/p>\n

The current implementation is in the following eight regions of Kavango East, Kavango West, Khomas, Ohangwena, Omusati, Oshana, Oshikoto and Zambezi. \u201cFollowing eight years of implementation, the Adherence and Retention Project has been extended to last from October 2020 to June 2023, with modified activities and additional geographical scope to include Okongo as a new district in Ohangwena Region,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
