Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>JUNIOR national lightweight champion Flaim ‘Special One’ Nangolo called out Fillipus ‘Energy’ Nghitumbwa on Saturday after outclassing David Shinuna to retain his title in Windhoek.<\/b><\/p>\n

Nangolo (9-0) earned a points decision over his combative but limited rival in the African Connection Promotions wine and dine main bout held at the Nampower Convention Centre.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, Nangolo declared: \u201cI’m too special.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also said WBO Global super bantamweight Nghitumbwa should face him next.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think there’s only one name, and that’s the energy man [Fillipus ‘Energy’ Nghitumbwa]. We’ve been calling him out for years. They never answer the call. We’re still waiting for the answer, so whenever they’re ready, let’s go baby,\u201d Nangolo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody knows that’s the fight we’ve been asking since day one. So. We’re ready to go.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s not really a threat to me, but if they need to make the fight, then they gotta make the fight. I’m still too special.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nangolo had the measure of Shinuna throughout the 10 rounds, landing shots at will and running rings around his frustrated rival.<\/p>\n

But for all his dominance, the champion appeared to not have the power to put his man down.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn my corner, they said don’t stop the guy, it’s too soon. Just show your skills. And everybody knows my skill level is better than anybody here. You can’t compare that to nobody,\u201d Nangolo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just did what I needed to do and that’s to get the W. He’s a good guy. He was there. He was taking shots, but he was not ready to go. He was ready to fight, so I just had to be there also and just give my best, which is what I did. I’m still the champion baby. We’re just going for bigger things now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shinuna saw the fight differently. He claims Nangolo was afraid of his power.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fight was very good. It’s just that the boy was running. He knew that I’m more powerful than him, every time I caught him, he could feel it. He was smart and running,\u201d Shinuna said.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old, who has not won for eight consecutive fights, believes a change of trainer will turn the tide for him.<\/p>\n

Shinuna feels he still has five or six years of fighting left in him.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s the lack of training. I don’t have a sparing partner. It’s only me there. I think I just need to move and get another trainer,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In the main supporting bout, Alfeus Shaanika won the welterweight national title eliminator with a second round technical knock-out of Hedison Hipondokwa.<\/p>\n

Hafeni Ngesheya also scored a TKO over Shanyangange Shanyangange in their lightweight clash, while Shikukutu Jona was also a TKO victor over Robert Ndalelwa.<\/p>\n

Also at lightweight, Usko Rehabeam won a split decision against Dominikus Weyulu, with featherweight Johnny Herman beating Jacob Jacob and Alweendo Nicanor edging in a featherweight contest.<\/p>\n

Ruaan Rispel overcame Johannes David at lightweight and Petrus Mathew beat Fillipus Amaamwa in a welterweight clash.<\/p>\n
