Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>THE fourth edition of Launch Magazine is out and the class of 2021-2022 is looking mighty inspiring.<\/b><\/p>\n

Featured in this issue are 22 start-ups that are making moves in the Namibian entrepreneurial scene. The magazine profiles the heads of these enterprises and charts their rise in their respective fields.<\/p>\n

Take a quick look through and you’ll be treated to the diverse and incredible stories of innovators like Cassidy Karon for his Concept fashion line, Fimanekeni Mbodo for his company Foster Digital Education, which focuses on financial literacy, David Aknin’s Jabu Logistics, Mehafo Amunyela and Rejoice Amutenya as co-founders of Afterbreak Magazine, Nhadia Gustavo for StimuBox which sells sensory boxes for children, Victoria Joseph’s Victoria Nanny Agency, Dr Twahafifwa Iyaloo Nambuwa’s Petiwa Medical Practice, and many others who are shifting the culture.<\/p>\n

The magazine was unveiled in Windhoek last week at the Standard Bank headquarters, where they handed over N$219 000 to the publication.<\/p>\n

Editor-in-chief Niita Shikongo urged attendees and readers to continue believing in themselves and collaborating with others.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are lighting the lanterns for the people who are coming behind us. That’s something that people continue to forget. When you make it bigger, you forget the smaller fish that still needs to learn how to swim. Let’s never forget to bring those people with us in whatever way we can,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Shikongo appealed to the business community to offer their time, expertise and money to cultivate and grow the business industry in the country.<\/p>\n

The magazine further highlights Launch Namibia’s activities over the last year, including their pitch nights where entrepreneurs can win prizes, including up to N$15 000 for showcasing their businesses to a panel of judges and the start-up community.<\/p>\n

At the end of 2021, they held a Fashion Pitch night, and they also hosted the Start-Up Awards which allows the public to nominate small businesses. Llewelyn Adams’ DonLu Africa was chosen as the start-up of the year and walked away with N$10 000 in the 2020 competition.<\/p>\n

The magazine has been made possible with editorial contributions by Dololo, Impact Tank and the Omeho Project.<\/p>\n
