Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>RESIDENTS of Extension 28 known as Onguta in Ondangwa Town can now register their homes and obtain title deeds. Town spokesperson Petrina Shitalangaho-Mutikisha said in the past Onguta had houses that were congested and some were built on the road as indicated on the town map layout.<\/p>\n

Shitalangaho-Mutikisha said this is now a thing of the past after Onguta was planned, surveyed, registered and gazetted. She said Onguta has 367 erven for different uses.<\/p>\n

Of those, 178 are serviced and occupied. In addition, 131 residential plots, 51 business zones and 7 public open spaces will be made available upon completion of services.<\/p>\n

During the financial year 2021\/22 Council put aside N$7.5 million for the construction of sewer and water reticulation in Onguta. \u201cThe site handover for the construction of these was done on 11 March and the work is expected to be completed within eight months,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Shitalangaho-Mutikisha said is not the only extension the Ondangwa Town Council has developed. \u201cIn a space of three years the council has serviced 321 erven in Extensions 24, 25 and 26, while 400 erven will be allocated soon to those who applied for land,\u201d she added. Shitalangaho-Mutikisha said the council has also planned Onantsi which accommodates around 524 households, with gravel roads, water and electricity.<\/p>\n
