Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>The marketing officer for Oshakati Pharmacy, Ester Shitaleni said sports have a positive effect – not only on the participants, but also on the overall wellbeing of the community.<\/p>\n

While launching the 2022 Oshakati Pharmacy Track and Field Championships last week, Shitaleni said there are many ways that one can make a difference in other people\u2019s lives, and her company chose this event to give back to society.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe always pride ourselves on the manner in which we dedicate ourselves to serving the community, not only through health but also through sport. This is yet another contribution towards development in our region and beyond,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Shitaleni said this is a platform aimed at empowering athletes on their journey to become world-class athletes. This event is the brainchild of the Ohangwena Athletics Club, under the leadership of Moses Theophilus and will be an annual event.<\/p>\n

This year, the Oshakati Pharmacy Track and Field Championships will take place on 23 July at the Oshakati Independence stadium. It is open to all Namibian and international athletes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are positive that this is merely the start of a wonderful partnership between Oshakati Pharmacy and Ohangwena Athletics Club, and we hope it will continue for many more years to come,\u201d she added, as she called upon all local and international athletes to register for the event.<\/p>\n
