Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>COASTAL sides are setting the pace in the Express Credit Futsal League following completion of the fourth round of matches over the weekend.<\/b><\/p>\n

Swakopmund Futsal Club, who were not even in action over the weekend, still lead the Men’s Premier League, while another coastal side, Walvis Bay Futsal Club has taken the lead in Group B of the Men’s First Division.<\/p>\n

In Premier League action, last year’s champions, the X Men beat the Patriots 3-1 to move into second position on the log on nine points – one point behind the leaders Swakopmund FC.<\/p>\n

In an evenly-matched contest, the Patriots took an early lead through Tyresse Hikupembe after an assist by Lota Mukasa, but the X Men were soon on level terms when Jamal Jacobs stabbed a cross in from close range.<\/p>\n

The Patriots squandered an opportunity to take the lead when Silas Matheus’ shot hit the cross bar, and the X men soon took advantage when Jacobs scored from a rebound to give them a 2-1 lead at the half time break.<\/p>\n

Chances were few and far between in the second half, but Damian Walters managed to extend the X Men’s lead after launching a quick counter-attack.<\/p>\n

The Patriots pushed hard in the final stages, with Paulo Coelho hitting the crossbar, but the X Men managed to hold on for their victory.<\/p>\n

The Patriots, however, managed to beat Quality Futsal Club 5-3 in another match to move up to fourth position on the log on six points, behind third-placed Galacticos on eight points.<\/p>\n

For the Patriots, Lota Mukasa scored a hat-trick, and Tiago de Sousa and Andjaba Nghiumbwavali one goal each, while Chisloth Nunda, Ken Salote and Luis Solunga scored for Quality.<\/p>\n

In another men’s Premier League match Windhoek North Futsal Club beat SBS Trucking 10-7 to move up to sixth position on four points, while SBS Trucking are eighth and bottom of the log on three points, along with Quality FC.<\/p>\n

Things are meanwhile getting quite tight in the Men’s First Division Group A, after log leaders The Mavericks and Ballers Futsal Club both suffered defeats on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Ballers lost 2-1 to the Royal International Academy, while The Mavericks lost 6-5 to Demia Futsal Club.<\/p>\n

The results now leave Ballers, The Mavericks and Replica Futsal Club as joint log leaders, with all three on nine points, while Down Ball Futsal Club and Demia follow on seven points each.<\/p>\n

In the Men’s First Division Group B, Momentum Futsal Club picked up two huge wins as they beat Green Enterprise Solutions 18-5, and Al Noor Futsal Club 9-1.<\/p>\n

In other matches, Al Noor drew 4-4 against Rightway Phoenixes Futsal Club, while Combretum Trust beat Green Enterprise Solutions 8-5.<\/p>\n

Walvis Bay FC now lead the log on 12 points, followed by Wolves FC (9) and Rightway (7).<\/p>\n

In the Women’s First Division Ramblers stretched their lead at the top of the log with a 4-3 victory against Rightway Phoenixes.<\/p>\n

Ramblers now lead the log on nine points, followed by Unam, Rightway Phoenixes, Khomas Nampol, and Ramblers II, who are on three points each.<\/p>\n
