Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>THE Executive Director (ED) of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Ben Nangombe, encouraged all Namibians who intend to travel beyond the Namibian borders to familiarise themselves with the Covid-19 related requirements of the destination countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is vital to avoid possible inconveniences. The public should familiarise themselves with the PanaBIOS Trusted Travel System, particularly the Trusted Vaccine module,\u201d Nangombe said.<\/p>\n

This comes after some Namibians were stuck at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg because they did not have the verifiable vaccination certificates with the required Quick Response (QR) codes.<\/p>\n

The ministry previously released a statement to explain how the Trusted Travel System works and stated that the system is a secure digital application that allows for the digitalisation of travel health history data and the verification of the health status of international travellers across the border. This statement also came with a guide on how to secure a vaccination certificate with the required QR code.<\/p>\n

According to the guide, first-time users should go to the PanaBIOS website at https:\/\/login.panabios.org\/cas\/login and create an account by filling out their identity details, with their first and last name as it appears on the passport and then create a password.<\/p>\n

These users will then receive a One-Time Pin (OTP) on the email they provided, which they can enter for verification on the website, and they will be redirected to the Africa Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Travel Pass Apps portal.<\/p>\n

Users are instructed to then select Upload Vaccine Record and they will be redirected to the Trusted Vaccine Dashboard, where they can create a vaccine booklet.<\/p>\n

To create the booklet, users must select user type, either \u2018self\u2019 or \u2018dependent\u2019, and specify the country where they received their vaccine and the pathogen type, for example, SARS-CoV-2.<\/p>\n

After proceeding to the Vaccination Campaign page, users are instructed to select the vaccine that they received and to continue to the Vaccination Record page, where they can fill in the vaccine details as indicated on the vaccine card, including the vaccination batch number, manufacturer of the vaccine and vaccination dates for all the doses received.<\/p>\n

Users are then instructed to upload the image of the vaccine card and their passports, provided that they enabled the option to use the passport. The details can then be saved, a code will be generated and the user can view the Provisional Vaccination Certificate.<\/p>\n

The certificate will be approved or disapproved by an authorised staff member of the ministry and once a certificate without a \u201cProvisional Certificate\u201d text is issued, the user will be required to present the downloaded Vaccination Certificate to the Port Health Officials for verification.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose experiencing challenges may call the Toll Free Covid-19 Hotline at 0800 100 100 for guidance,\u201d the ED advised.<\/p>\n
