\nAs part of their mandate to provide affordable and quality housing to Namibian citizens, the National Housing Enterprise hosted an open day in Outapi on Friday.<\/p>\n

The event was aimed to bring NHE services closer to their potential clients, as they are close to finalising the construction of 81 houses in the town, of which 57 are core and 24 are conventional houses. The newly constructed houses range from N$498 432 to N$761 316.<\/p>\n

With the support of other stakeholders, especially banks, the housing institution held the jovial day at a construction site, where potential clients had an opportunity to view the houses and choose a specific property of their choice from the available unallocated houses.<\/p>\n

At the event, NHE issued the deeds of sale to clients at the site, for submission to the relevant banks for financing applications.<\/p>\n

Banks such as the First National Bank (FNB), Bank Windhoek and Standard Bank were present to issue pre-approvals to clients on the spot.<\/p>\n

Local furniture retailers were also invited to showcase their products and thus, give clients ideas to beautify their houses.<\/p>\n

NHE\u2019s acting manager of corporate communications and marketing Tuafi Shafombabi, said the day was a success as they noticed a renewed interest in the NHE\u2019s products and services.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people were not aware of our services and the open house concept has just created more visibility for us and that is our drive. We have seen how very keen the nation is on making use of our services and products,\u201d she said, also adding that the outcome was overwhelming as they have received a lot of calls from clients and other institutions.<\/p>\n

The project, worth N$5 million, began in July 2021 and of the 81 houses built in Outapi, 56 houses are already allocated.<\/p>\n

Speaking to New Era, one of the clients, Selma Hanghome described the concept as \u201ceasy and convenient\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe entire process was really convenient and smooth as they have brought all the necessary services closer, and it also took us a few minutes to receive deeds of sale and get pre-approved by the bank,\u201d said Hanghome.<\/p>\n

Shafombabi urged residents of Otjiwarongo to be on the lookout for a similar event on 6 June 2022.<\/p>\n

To date, the NHE has completed the Keetmanshoop project with 77 houses, the Karibib project with 72 houses, Omaruru with four houses, Okakarara with 40 houses, Ongwediva with 10 houses, Otjiwarongo with 40 houses, Omuthiya with 50 houses, and Okahao with 70 houses.<\/p>\n
