Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>THE Ohangwena Education Directorate on Wednesday officially inaugurated the Oshikunde Circuit office after years of operating from the Oshikunde constituency councillor\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

Education director Isak Hamatwi said the circuit was recently established and they saw a need to have an office to cut the travelling distance to schools in the Oshikunde constituency. \u201cWe just brought service closer to the people in terms of educational administration services.\u201d<\/p>\n

The office will serve about 23 schools within the Oshikunde Circuit that previously had to get educational services from as far as Okongo and Eenhana.<\/p>\n

Hamatwi said the circuit serves as a channel of inquiry and communication for the schools without having to contact the directorate office \u201cto log petty complaints that can be solved at the circuit level\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t expect people to come straight to the director\u2019s office with matters that can be resolved at the circuit. I should expect serious and challenging matters to be brought to my office when the circuit is also challenged,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The Oshikunde Circuit was established by retired inspector Penehafo Haidula in 2017, with office work carried out at the councillor\u2019s office at the time.<\/p>\n

The new office was constructed for N$1.5 million and fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture.<\/p>\n
