Africa-Press<\/a> – Namibia<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>WINDHOEK, 14 SEPT \u2013 Namibia\u2019s U15 team did the nation proud as it opened proceedings in the ISF inaugural World School Sport Games with a total overhaul of 6 medals.<\/p>\n

The junior athletes are out to set the record straight that Namibia is a conveyor belt of elite athletes. In the wake of the trending Christine Mboma\u2019s record-shattering performances, the juniors earned FOUR gold medals in day one of the International School Sports Federation (ISF) games, plus a silver and bronze.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the first day was arguably the boys 4X100m team that blew its competition out of the water to scoop the gold in a time of 43.78 seconds. Food for thought; the runners up in this race(Serbia) crossed the finish line at 50.44 seconds \u2013 indicating a time differential of almost SEVEN seconds.<\/p>\n

Namibia Schools Sport Union Coordinator Solly Duiker described this spectacle best. \u201cIn the final event of the day, the boy\u2019s 100 metre relay team had the crowd up on their feet when they won with almost a 40 metre gap(margin) to take the gold medal in a time of 43.78 seconds. So in day 1 we collected 6 medals in total and team Namibia is leading the competition so far.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the boys 100 metre sprint, Ruano de Carvalho took gold in lane 4 with a time of 11.26 seconds. There was no question when it came to the girls discuss as Leane Boshoff dominated procedures with a 46.62m throw that obliterated Mexican Alana Valdez\u2019 39.05m throw to secure yet another Namibian gold medal.<\/p>\n

It was a case of de ja vu when Stephanus Burger outshone the rest of the competitors with a gold-worthy 16.10m throw which made Luka Kezunovic (RS) 12.59m effort pale in comparison.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
