Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span> <\/b>The organising committee of the Keetmanshoop Agricultural, Industrial and Tourism Expo last week announced the 2022 edition will be held from 06 to 10 September 2022.<\/p>\n

\/\/Kharas acting chief regional officer (CRO) Benedictus Diergaardt said it is rather the responsibility of the residents, instead of outsiders to think of how to develop the southern town.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am hereby calling on our residents to join hands with these people (KAITE organising committee) who are sacrificing their own private time without compensation to make this important event a success this year,\u201d said Diergaardt.<\/p>\n

The finance, HR and administration director at \/\/Kharas Regional Council also described the upcoming event as an ideal platform for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) owners to display their goods and services and sell it as a means of living to visitors attending the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are also very fortunate to have a twin agreement in place with the Northern Cape Province in South Africa, where exhibitors from both countries will now have the opportunity to display their goods on a reciprocal base,\u2019\u2019 said the acting CRO.<\/p>\n

Diergaardt, who also acted as manager of the Keetmanshoop Show Society in the past, added that although members of the Namibian business fraternity are currently benefiting from transporting manganese ore from the Northern Cape to L\u00fcderitz harbour, much more platforms should be created in future to expand on such bilateral business opportunities.<\/p>\n

In his contribution, Charles Josob, president of the KAITE expressed gratitude towards the business community as well as public and private institutions for coming on board by supporting KAITE financially and in kind to make this year\u2019s edition of the expo a success.<\/p>\n

The expo has been absent from the town\u2019s event calendar for the past three years as a result of the devastating effects of the coronavirus.<\/p>\n
