Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>THE Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT) has partnered with the Rob Youth Foundation (RYF) to restore the Katutura State Hospital.<\/p>\n

This partnership comes after NIMT\u2019s Executive Director (ED), Ralph Bussel, and the RYF founder, Robert Maseka, assessed how NIMT could contribute to the refurbishment of the hospital on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI decided to call Rob immediately after I saw the news, we then agreed to set up the date to come and see what needs to be done and (to) see if we can help\u201d Bussel said.<\/p>\n

Bussel explained that the institute came on board to ensure the delivery of an excellent project \u2013 adding that they did not simply join \u201cjust to put paint against the wall\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to him, the project is aligned with the institute\u2019s beliefs and culture and it is therefore important that NIMT plays a role in the project. However, he said that this responsibility should not solely fall on the institute, but also on society as it is a societal obligation to maintain the standards of basic civic institutions, such as hospitals.<\/p>\n

This was further emphasised by Maseka, who said that RYF would like to have NIMT serve as a main project constructor, with others playing a supporting role. He also explained that the objective is to deliver a project that will prove that the youth can also play a critical role in the development of the sustainability of the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just need people to believe in them (the youth), give them their chance to lead and steer the Namibian house towards prosperity,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
