{"id":24414,"date":"2022-07-10T16:34:11","date_gmt":"2022-07-10T16:34:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/namibia\/all-news\/namibia-under-18-hockey-team-to-play-against-springbok-teams"},"modified":"2022-07-10T16:56:49","modified_gmt":"2022-07-10T16:56:49","slug":"namibia-under-18-hockey-team-to-play-against-springbok-teams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/namibia\/all-news\/namibia-under-18-hockey-team-to-play-against-springbok-teams","title":{"rendered":"Namibia Under 18 Hockey team to play against Springbok teams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>THE Namibian Hockey Union (NHU) handed out Namibian Colors to the Under 18 (U18) Boys and Girls teams on Wednesday evening at the Windhoek High School (WHS) Hockey Grounds.<\/p>\n<p>The two teams will be touring to South Africa to play three test matches against the U18 Springbok teams in Stellenbosch.<\/p>\n<p>The last time Namibia\u2019s senior sides took on their Southern African counterparts was at the 2022 African Cup of Nations in February in Accra, Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, the Namibian women were humbled by South Africa with a 13-nil loss, while the men\u2019s team also lost 6-0 to the South Africans.<\/p>\n<p>The first match of the tour will take place on Sunday, 10 July, with the girls running out to their South African counterparts at 18:45, followed by the boys at 20:45.<\/p>\n<p>Two tests will follow on Monday and Tuesday, which will surely challenge the teams\u2019 stamina.<\/p>\n<p>The NHU president, Reagon Graig, praised the athletes for the effort and sacrifice they put in to achieve this.
