Africa-Press – Namibia. <\/strong><\/span>TELECOM Namibia spokesperson Nomvula Kambinda has confirmed that the company has been experiencing service interruptions in Ohangwena region for the past week.<\/p>\n

TELECOM Namibia spokesperson Nomvula Kambinda has confirmed that the company has been experiencing service interruptions in Ohangwena region for the past week.<\/p>\n

“We have already issued a notice on the matter on our social media pages as well as the media.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere has been an incident with one of our poles in Ohangwena region. Our fixed and mobile data and voice services are affected.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have observed the issue and are working relentlessly on resolving it. Technicians are attending to the interruption and communication will be issued when services are fully restored,” said Kambinda on Monday.<\/p>\n

Tuvelula Pharmacy at Eenhana said their services for dispensing prescribed medication have come to a standstill.<\/p>\n

“We have to turn customers away because we cannot get into the system. We have turned away hundreds of customers since last week Friday. We are tired of this situation with Telecom. I opened this pharmacy in April 2022 and since then we have been experiencing issues with Telecom. However, this is the longest period that they have left us hanging,” complained pharmacist Yousef Tuvelula.<\/p>\n

A pharmacist Eenhana Pharmacy, Violet Katandawa, had the same complaint.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s really frustrating, we have to consult affiliated pharmacies in Windhoek or other towns where their network is still functional and it’s a daunting procedure,” Katandawa said.<\/p>\n

University student Sarah Shilongo said: “As a student, this whole Telecom situation is affecting our schoolwork. We have missed online lessons for a whole week. I can’t work on my presentation that was due on Saturday because there’s no internet. I’m so stressed and scared of failing a course I paid so much money for just because of Telecom Namibia.\u201d<\/p>\n
